UNDERWOOD BREWERY

We Brew Culture
UNDERWOOD is an independent craft brewery based in Kyiv, Ukraine, founded in 2017 by a group of enthusiasts who started as homebrewers and grew into one of the leading craft breweries in the country.
From the very beginning, UNDERWOOD has been driven by a simple idea: to change the way people experience beer. In a market traditionally dominated by mass-produced lagers, the brewery set out to introduce more expressive, flavorful, and creative alternatives – while still respecting classic styles and making them relevant for a modern audience.
Taste of Kyiv
UNDERWOOD is deeply rooted in Kyiv. The city is not just a location – it is a source of inspiration. The brewery’s philosophy can be summarized as “we brew culture”: translating the energy, diversity, and rhythm of a big city into drinks.
This approach is reflected in both the liquid and the visual identity. From the flagship Kyiv Lager – a clean, balanced Helles-style beer – to bold hop-forward IPAs and experimental styles, each product carries a certain “big city vibe”: contemporary, expressive, and accessible.

Beyond Beer
While beer remains the foundation, UNDERWOOD has evolved into a broader beverage company. The team actively experiments with new categories: non-alcoholic beers, craft sodas, functional drinks, teas, and hybrid formats.
This expansion reflects a belief that modern consumers are not limited to one category – they are looking for experiences, emotions, and functional benefits. UNDERWOOD responds by developing products that fit different moments of life: from social occasions to relaxation, focus, or recovery.
Community and Culture
UNDERWOOD is not just about production – it is about building a community.
The brand actively collaborates with artists, local businesses, cultural initiatives, and organizations. These collaborations often go beyond marketing: they create new products, support creative industries, and bring people together around shared values.
The brewery also runs its own direct-to-consumer ecosystem, including an online store and a physical boutique in Kyiv, which serves as a meeting point for the community.

Social Impact
Operating in Ukraine during challenging times has fundamentally shaped UNDERWOOD’s role as a business. Today, it is not only about producing beverages, but also about contributing to the resilience of the country and supporting its communities.
UNDERWOOD actively engages in collaborations with military units, charitable foundations, volunteer organizations, and social initiatives. These partnerships are designed to create real impact – through fundraising, direct support, and raising awareness. By leveraging its products and communication channels, the brewery helps turn everyday consumption into a meaningful contribution.
Over the past years, UNDERWOOD has launched multiple initiatives where part of the revenue from specific products was directed to support Ukraine’s defense forces and humanitarian needs. At the same time, the team continues to explore new formats of collaboration that combine product development, storytelling, and purpose-driven marketing.
International collaborations have also become an important part of this effort. By partnering with European breweries such as BRLO and To Øl, UNDERWOOD has created projects like MRIYA and Hi, Are You Safe? – beers that not only showcase Ukrainian craft but also serve as a platform to draw international attention to Ukraine and its current reality.
Beyond this, UNDERWOOD supports sports, cultural events, and creative initiatives, contributing to the development of local communities and industries. Whether it is through partnerships, sponsorships, or collaborative products, the brand consistently seeks ways to stay connected to the cultural and social fabric around it.
For UNDERWOOD, being a modern brand means taking responsibility – acting not only as a producer, but as an active participant in society.
Looking Forward
Today, UNDERWOOD continues to evolve from a craft brewery into a multi-category beverage brand with a strong identity and clear vision.
Its ambition is not only to produce drinks but to become a cultural connector – a brand that brings people together, inspires, and reflects a modern, dynamic lifestyle.
With roots in beer and a mindset open to innovation, UNDERWOOD represents a new wave of Eastern European craft: bold, fast-moving, and deeply connected to its community.
